Analysis of Genetic Variability, Correlation and Path for Yield and Its Attributing Traits in Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

The current study was undertaken to analyze the genetic variability, correlation and path for yield its attributing traits at agriculture research farm, Department of Genetics Plant Breeding, School Agriculture, Lovely Professional University, Punjab during Rabi 2021-22 2022-23. Augmented design with F2 seeds planted in ear row fashion 4 rows were used including 2 parent 6 F2’s 9 viz. plant height, spike length, number tillers per plant, spikes spikelets ear, grains biological yield, harvest index grain yield. Finding revealed that positive highly significant (rp= 0.8387, rg= 0.8709) 0.9671, 0.9965) while Number 0.7168, 0.7253) both phenotypic genotypic level. Biological highest direct effect (1.0642, 0.8700) association (0.9965, 0.9671) whereas reveals least on (0.0183, 0.0834) PCV higher than GCV all indicated an influence environment over traits. recorded followed by Grain Heritability (h2b) found (84.2) (83.4), Grains (82.7) height (80.1). Genetic advance (GA) (35.07) (11.93). Moderate GA Height (7.67) (6.88) Spike length (0.62) lowest GA. Hence, selection these mentioned characters could bring improvement components.
